Man with Van Arkley Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Arkley has taken, and is continuing to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our own operations or within our supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Arkley has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and all forms of exploitation. This commitment applies to every part of our business, from the provision of transport and removal services to the sourcing of equipment, vehicles, storage facilities, and ancillary services. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual that is involved in or condones modern slavery. Where concerns are identified, we will take decisive action which may include suspending or terminating relationships, reporting issues to relevant authorities, and supporting remediation where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Arkley operates as a transport and removals business, providing moving, collection, and delivery services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage solutions, maintenance services, recruitment and labour agencies, and other professional services. We recognise that certain sectors and geographies may carry a higher risk of labour exploitation and we therefore pay particular attention to suppliers operating in those areas.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values on human rights, labour standards, and ethical conduct. We communicate our zero-tolerance position on modern slavery to all key suppliers and incorporate expectations on labour standards into our supplier selection and review processes.
Where proportionate to the size and risk profile of the supplier, we carry out due diligence checks that may include verification of employment practices, confirmation of right to work procedures, review of health and safety arrangements, and assessment of subcontracting arrangements. We reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence that suppliers operate in accordance with applicable labour laws and our own ethical standards.
If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate controls to prevent modern slavery, we will consider terminating existing arrangements and will not enter into new contracts until appropriate standards are achieved and evidenced.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
Everyone working for or with Man with Van Arkley is encouraged to speak up if they have any concerns, suspicions, or information relating to possible modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or directly to senior management.
We will treat all reports sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited. We will promptly investigate any credible allegation and, where necessary, cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies. Where harm to individuals is identified, we will seek to support appropriate remediation measures.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our management and employees, particularly those who are involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment. Training and guidance focus on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding our reporting routes, and applying our zero-tolerance policy in day-to-day decision making.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Arkley recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually reviewing and improving our policies, procedures, and due diligence processes to respond to evolving risks and best practice.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness and to agree any required updates or enhancements. The review considers feedback from audits, risk assessments, incident reports, and relevant changes in legislation or industry guidance. Updated versions of this statement will reflect our progress and any new measures adopted to strengthen our approach.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Arkley and represents our current position on preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.
